Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead our Quality Management System in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with FDA regulations, food safety standards, and company quality requirements while driving continuous improvement across production operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain the Quality Management System in compliance with GMP and food safety regulations.
- Develop and deliver GMP and food safety training for production and QA personnel.
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Review quality data, identify trends, and implement process improvements.
- Lead investigations using 5-Why, Fishbone, and DMAIC methodologies.
- Oversee batch record reviews, CAPAs, deviations, non-conformances, and document control.
- Partner with Production to implement corrective and preventive actions that improve quality and efficiency.
- Support supplier qualification, evaluations, and corrective action follow-up.
- Participate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Track KPIs and maintain accurate quality documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of Quality Assurance experience in dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Minimum 3 years in a QA supervisory or leadership role.
- Knowledge of 21 CFR Parts 111 & 117, GMPs, HACCP, and ISO 22000/17025.
- Experience supporting or leading regulatory and customer audits.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- HACCP Certification or equivalent food safety training.
- ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
Skills
- Strong knowledge of GMPs, food safety, and quality systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, and organizational skills.
- Analytical problem-solving with a data-driven approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the production facility for extended periods.
- Ability to climb stairs and occasionally ladders.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and crouching during inspections and audits.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
